Pier de Tier (sp?) Apartment

Hello everyone

It's been a long transition time since we've blogged but we just felt like it was time to get back to it.

Allot of things have happened since we got back from our trip which was Sept 05 through June of 06. So I'm gonna give you all a quick update and then we'll go from there with short bursts of going back in time. We will also take small excursions into the future. Let's start with our
attached apartment in the back of the garage.
Gary especially dreams of the day when we are
back on the boat travelling south. He's been reading about the Abaco's lately. I'm still a little skittish but I'm warming up to the idea. We'll see. In the meantime I'll do what I can to help him
move forward so when the opportunity presents itself, we can go. And with the apartment in place we'll have a place to come back to while the house is rented.

Pictures may seem random but eventually we'll get caught up. Hope it's interesting.......Here we go.

Pictures: The Thompson Lumber yard (no relation) delivery man, the rough cut lumber itself, Jake the big black Rotti/Lab mix who came to stay with us for a little bit with Dad(George) and Gary. I just fell in LOVE with Jake. Eddie wasn't as enamoured as Brittany and I was.

I know your all DYING to know .............I just had my hair pulled through a cap, and Sue my
hairdresser wanted to try "eggplant". Hmmmm So for three days I had purple
hair, now its just RED. It should be the ideal color by Christmas.

In case you all haven't heard ...Brittany made a Christmas CD about 2 years ago now when the little darlin was 15. Whoever is interested just email me and I'll send you out a copy. She never had a lesson at that point. She went to the local Mall and paid
like 35.00 dollars for the first song and 10 bucks for each additional.
SoundBox was the franchise. Then she placed in the top 12 at our local South County American Idol. She won several prises from that. And then one day while I was at work at By The Bay Canvas a random customer "Bill" came in, heard Brittany singing (the CD) and long story short "Bill" offered Brittany an audition with a Big Wig in NY as soon as she turns 18. In the meantime he suggested drama and voice lessons which Brittany is doing. He has been involved in the NY theatre community for 20 years + and knows many people. He also offered us his condo to stay in while there. We'll see where that goes, and keep you posted.

The most recent update on Brittany is that she tried out for her first Play. You know that she is taking Voice and Drama at the local community college. Anyway, little miss who seems to always be "stepping in it" landed the Lead!! The play is called "A Member of The Wedding" She is playing a 12 year old girl who isn't happy about her brother getting married,
back in the 1800's. She also got her hair cut for the part, they want her to
look like a boy. She is determined. It opens in February. We'll keep you posted.

I got a job two doors down in the strip mall where I was doing the marine fabrication. Marine work slows down in the winter so I wanted to find something else nearby. Now I'm a dog groomer assistant, called a bather/dryer. Wednesday I washed and dried a Newfoundland, and a Collie (just like Lassie). It took all day. In the drying room it looked like a hair blizzard. I have to wear eye goggles and a mask. I love it.

Gary is happy in his job putting in handicap lifts(elevators) in private homes. He does industrial stuff still too, but thats his favorite.
Everything came to a screeching halt a few weeks back. It all started when Gary's partner asked us to watch their dog Jake (Large, black, rotti/lab mix) while they went on vaca. We said no problem and all went well with that. But the following weekend they got back (Sunday) and wanted to set up a time to pick up Jake. They live in Mass so it took a little thought. We decided on Tuesday when Larry was down here working with Gary.
All good so far. Around 4:00 that afternoon on Sunday, we got a call that Larry decided to clean the gutters on his two story house. His wife found him outside laying in the
curled up in a ball in the driveway with the ladder laying beside him. He remembered nothing and no one saw what exactly happened. From what they can all surmise is that he landed on his shoulder and his head smashed sideways onto the front step wrought iron hand rail in the process. He cracked his skull. So for the last 2 weeks Larry has been healing from his brain injury. Motor skills are coming back nice and he'll be back to work come January. Its a bloomin miracle that he isn't dead.

Praise God!!

Keep us in your prayers, your in ours

Signed still,
Victoria's Perspective
